. Market Development & Client Management (China-Focus):
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to penetrate the Chinese market for all company commodities.
- Identify, target, and build strong, long-term relationships with Chinese importers, distributors, and end-users.
- Serve as the primary face and point of contact for all Chinese clients, managing all communication in fluent Mandarin and English.
- Understand and anticipate the unique needs and preferences of the Chinese market for each commodity.
- Relay client inquiries, sample requests, and technical specifications from Chinese clients to the relevant Commodity Coordinator.
- Facilitate meetings and communication between Chinese clients and the Commodity Coordinators, acting as a translator and cultural interpreter to ensure clear understanding.
- Collaborate with the Commodity Coordinators to prepare tailored offers and quotations for the Chinese market.
- Lead negotiations with Chinese buyers on commercial terms (price, payment terms, volume), leveraging insights from the Commodity Coordinators on product cost and viability.
- Ensure all contracts and communications are culturally appropriate and accurately translated.
- Manage the post-sale relationship, providing clients with shipment updates and handling any inquiries or issues.
- Own the China-specific export process. Work with the Finance Manager and the freight forwarder to ensure 100% compliance with all Chinese import regulations (customs, labeling, documentation).
- Coordinate and manage the mandatory pre-shipment inspection process required by Chinese authorities or buyers.
- Review all shipping documents (Bill of Lading, Certificate of Origin, Phytosanitary Certificate) for absolute accuracy and adherence to Chinese requirements before they are sent to the buyer.
- Sales revenue and volume generated from the Chinese market.
- Number of new Chinese clients acquired.
- Client satisfaction and retention rate for Chinese accounts.
- Reduction in errors or disputes related to Chinese shipments.
- Bachelor’s degree in International Business or a related field.
- Native or Fluent Mandarin Chinese is non-negotiable, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills. High proficiency in English is required.
- 5 years of experience in a role involving B2B sales, account management, or buying for the Chinese market. Experience in agricultural commodities is ESSINTIAL.
- Deep, practical understanding of Chinese business culture, etiquette, and negotiation styles.
- Proven ability to manage complex relationships and coordinate between internal technical experts and external clients.
- Exceptional cross-cultural communicator and relationship-builder.
- A facilitator and team player, not a solo operator.
- Meticulously detail-oriented, especially with documentation and compliance.
- Patient, strategic, and an excellent problem-solver.
