With a diverse portfolio and a commitment to ethical business practices, we are seeking a seasoned Legal & Compliance Director to join our dynamic team in Shenzhen. Job Description: The Legal & Compliance Director will be responsible for overseeing all legal and compliance activities within the organization, ensuring that our operations align with applicable laws and regulations. This role is vital for safeguarding the company against legal risks while promoting a culture of compliance and integrity. Key Responsibilities: - Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s legal and compliance strategy, policies, and programs. - Advise senior management and the board of directors on legal and compliance issues and potential risks affecting the company. - Conduct regular compliance audits and assessments, ensuring adherence to local and international laws, regulations, and industry standards. - Manage all legal disputes, including litigation, mediation, and settlement negotiations. - Collaborate with various departments to provide legal guidance on contracts, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, and other business transactions. - Prepare and review legal documents, including contracts, agreements, and corporate governance materials. - Stay updated on relevant legal developments, regulations, and industry trends, and communicate these changes to the organization. - Lead training sessions on compliance matters for employees to foster a culture of ethical business practices. - Manage relationships with external legal counsel and regulatory bodies. - Oversee the implementation of corporate governance policies and ethical standards. Required Skills and Qualifications: - Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent law degree from an accredited institution. - Minimum of 10 years of legal experience, with at least 5 years in a senior compliance role, preferably within the Industry and Manufacturing sector. - Strong understanding of Chinese business law, compliance regulations, and international trade laws. - Proven track record in developing compliance programs and managing legal risks. - Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills. - Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical, strategic solutions. -Strong leadership skills with a focus on team development and cross-functional collaboration. - High level of integrity and professional ethics. Additional Qualifications: - Familiarity with international compliance frameworks, such as ISO standards, GDPR, and anti-corruption laws. - Fluency in both English and Mandarin (written and spoken) is essential. - Membership in a local or international bar association is a plus. - Experience in dealing with regulatory bodies and corporate governance. |
