**Position Overview:**
We are seeking a strategic and results-driven Merchandising Director to lead our merchandising team and oversee the planning, development, and execution of product strategies. **Key Responsibilities:**
*Strategy & Planning:*
- Develop and implement comprehensive merchandising strategies to achieve sales, margin, and inventory turnover goals.
- Analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscape to identify opportunities and risks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Design, Marketing, Sales, Supply Chain) to ensure product strategies align with brand vision and business objectives.
*Assortment & Product Management:*
- Lead the assortment planning process, ensuring product mix meets market demands and financial targets.
- Oversee product lifecycle management from concept to launch, including pricing, promotions, and markdown strategies.
- Drive seasonal buy plans and product line reviews to optimize performance.
*Financial Performance:*
- Own the Open-to-Buy (OTB) process, managing inventory levels to maximize profitability and minimize excess stock.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs), such as sell-through, gross margin, and inventory health.
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
*Team Leadership & Development:*
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing merchandising team, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Establish clear roles, responsibilities, and performance metrics for the team.
- Promote professional growth through training, coaching, and career development initiatives.
*Cross-Functional Collaboration:*
- Partner with Design and Production teams on product development, ensuring feasibility, cost-effectiveness, and timely delivery.
- Work closely with Marketing to create compelling product stories and launch campaigns.
- Collaborate with Sales and Retail teams to ensure product strategies are effectively executed in-store and online.
*Process Improvement:*
- Identify and implement best practices in merchandising processes, tools, and systems.
- Leverage data analytics and technology to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.
**Requirements:**
*Experience:*
- 10+ years of experience in merchandising, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
- Proven success in developing and executing merchandising strategies in a retail, wholesale, or e-commerce environment.
- Strong background in financial planning, inventory management, and Open-to-Buy.
- Experience in product development and lifecycle management.
*Skills & Competencies:*
- Deep analytical skills with proficiency in retail math and data analysis tools.
- Excellent understanding of market trends, consumer insights, and competitive dynamics.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of developing talent.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in merchandising software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Excel skills required).
*Education:*
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising, Fashion, or a related field. MBA or advanced degree preferred.
