- About my client: Listed company in FMCG industry, my client is a business group covering the manufacturing and distribution of food and beverage products in Mainland China, HK and Macau.
- We are searching for a seasoned Head of Supply Chain, a senior executive responsible for overseeing and optimizing the entire supply chain management function within the organization. This role plays a pivotal part in driving efficiency, cost savings, and customer satisfaction by managing plant operations, quality, demand/supply planning, logistics and inventory management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategy Development & Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive supply chain strategies aligned with the company's overall business objectives. Lead the development of long-term plans to enhance supply chain performance, reliability, and flexibility.
- Plant Management: Lead and oversee the strategic direction and operation management of the Group’s manufacturing plants, ensuring efficient and profitable operations while adhering to safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
- Quality Management: set up quality management policy and systems, create and implement quality planning and assurance processes and procedures, quality control, and quality improvement.
- Logistics & Distribution: Manage the logistics network, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution operations. Optimize routes, modes of transportation, and storage facilities to minimize costs and improve delivery times.
- Supply Planning: Translate demand forecasts into detailed production or procurement plans, ensuring alignment between supply and demand.
- Inventory Management: Implement effective inventory control systems to balance inventory levels with demand, ensuring that customer service and levels of performance are at industry standards while minimizing excessive inventory & costs.
- Performance Monitoring & Improvement: Build efficient and effective supply chain - systems, processes, policies, and practices. Continuously monitor supply chain performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions. Utilize data analytics and technology to drive process improvements and increase supply chain visibility.
- ✓ Performance Evaluation: Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of demand and supply planning processes using key performance indicators (KPIs) like forecast accuracy, inventory turnover, and supply fulfillment rates.
- ✓ Process Refinement: Based on performance evaluations, continually refine demand and supply planning processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- ✓ Technological Advancement: Stay abreast of advancements in supply chain management technologies and tools, exploring opportunities to integrate them into planning processes for further optimization.
- Risk Management: Identify and assess potential supply chain risks, including supplier disruptions, transportation delays, and demand fluctuations. Develop contingency plans to mitigate these risks and ensure business continuity.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Build and maintain strong and positive partnerships with all stakeholders in Divisions and other departments, including Sales, Marketing, R&D, Finance, and operations, to ensure seamless integration of supply chain activities with overall business strategy.
- Team Leadership & Development: Lead and mentor a high-performing supply chain team. Set clear goals, provide guidance, and foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
Key Competencies and Techinical Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in supply chain management (incl. plant management, logistics management), with at least 5 years in a leadership role, preferably in consumer goods industry. Experiences in multi-national company under matrix organization is preferred.
- Proven track record of successfully managing complex supply chain operations and driving significant improvements in performance.
- Excellent people leadership skills. Able to attract, select and develop Supply Chain talents, upgrade Supply Chain people quality, efficiency and effectiveness, strengthen Supply Chain talent pipeline.
- Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision making.
- A highly energetic individual, customer-oriented and drive for results.
- Have strong presence and unquestionable creditability. Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with supply chain management software and technology trends.
- Good command of spoken and written Chinese and English.
