About the Company
- A well-funded, innovation-driven Biotech with global development ambitions is seeking an experienced Head of Clinical Development to lead the clinical strategy and execution of its non-oncology pipeline, with a strong preference for candidates possessing expertise in Neurology, Pain Management, or related therapeutic areas.
- This is a senior leadership position with broad strategic influence across global clinical development, regulatory interactions, portfolio decision-making, and team leadership.
About the Job
- Define and execute global clinical development strategies for innovative non-oncology assets.
- Lead the design, conduct, and interpretation of Phase I–III clinical studies.
- Oversee clinical development plans, timelines, budgets, and risk mitigation activities.
- Drive key development milestones from early clinical stages through registration.
- Lead medical and clinical components of IND and NDA submissions in China and the United States.
- Serve as the primary clinical representative in interactions with regulatory authorities, including FDA and CDE/NMPA.
- Provide strategic leadership for major regulatory meetings such as Pre-IND, End-of-Phase 2, and Pre-NDA discussions.
- Assess clinical, scientific, and commercial opportunities across the development portfolio.
- Participate in asset prioritization and Go/No-Go decision-making processes.
- Support due diligence efforts for external licensing and business development opportunities.
- Build and maintain relationships with leading Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) and academic experts.
- Provide insights into unmet medical needs and emerging scientific trends.
- Lead product-level medical strategy and cross-functional scientific communications.
Required Qualifications
- MD degree required; specialization in Neurology, Pain Medicine, Internal Medicine, Anesthesiology, or related fields highly preferred.
- 10+ years of pharmaceutical clinical development experience.
- Proven track record leading innovative non-oncology drug development programs through late-stage clinical development and regulatory submission.
- Direct leadership experience in at least one Phase III program and successful NDA submission in China.
- Experience supporting or leading simultaneous China-US IND filings.
- Exposure to both small-molecule and biologic development programs.
- Strong background in Neurology and/or Pain indications is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated success leading and growing multidisciplinary clinical organizations.
- Experience managing teams of 10+ professionals.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to build teams, processes, and capabilities from the ground up.
- Strong understanding of FDA, NMPA, and ICH guidelines.
- Experience participating directly in regulatory authority interactions.
- Fluent English communication skills required.
- Ability to independently author and review key clinical and regulatory documents.
