About the Job

• Serve as Chief Scientific Officer (CSO) and provide overall scientific vision, strategy, and leadership for the organization's immunology-focused research and development efforts.
• Define and execute long-term scientific and portfolio strategies to maximize pipeline value and achieve key development milestones.
• Lead the integration of AI/ML capabilities with biology, translational science, and drug discovery activities.
• Oversee target identification, validation, mechanism-of-action research, biomarker strategy, and preclinical development programs.
• Establish and guide research priorities across immunology, inflammation, autoimmune diseases, and related therapeutic areas.
• Build, mentor, and scale world-class multidisciplinary scientific teams across biology, computational science, translational medicine, and drug development.
• Work closely with executive leadership and the Board to shape corporate strategy, investment priorities, and growth plans.
• Drive scientific decision-making and portfolio governance through data-driven evaluation and risk assessment.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders, academic institutions, strategic partners, and industry collaborators.
• Represent the company at scientific conferences, investor meetings, partnering discussions, and external scientific forums.
• Guide IND-enabling activities and support regulatory interactions where appropriate.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, scientific rigor, and operational excellence.

Required Qualifications

• PhD, MD, or MD/PhD in Immunology, Biology, Medicine, or a related life sciences discipline.
• 15+ years of progressive leadership experience within biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or innovative life sciences organizations.
• Recognized scientific leader with deep expertise in immunology, inflammation, autoimmune disease, or immune-mediated disorders.
• Proven track record of advancing drug discovery programs from target identification through preclinical and/or clinical development.
• Experience leading large scientific organizations and managing senior research leaders.
• Strong understanding of translational science, biomarkers, and modern therapeutic modalities.
• Demonstrated success in integrating cutting-edge technologies, including AI, computational biology, genomics, or data science, into drug discovery.
• Experience working with external collaborators, academic investigators, and strategic partners.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to balance scientific innovation and commercial objectives.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence investors, Board members, and external stakeholders.
• Experience in venture-backed, high-growth, or entrepreneurial biotech environments preferred.
• Proven ability to attract, develop, and retain top scientific talent.
