POSITION PURPOSE AND EXPECTATION:
The product Compliance manager will ensure that all regulatory product, ethical and customs compliance requirements are adhered to in each country/ region in which the firm operates or intends to operate.
In this position you will perform a range of duties including evaluating all current and new compliance regulations, reviewing our internal processes and leading any required training.
Working closely with our suppliers and assigned testing agency you will provide direction and guidance on the required product standards applicable to the products within firm’s product ranges.
All reporting is prepared and submitted across all compliance obligations within each region i.e Modern Slavery reporting, Packaging Covenant reporting & Precious Metals requirements.
The Compliance Manger will be responsible for:
• Develop and implement company policies and procedures with regards to product compliance
• Regularly assess the effectiveness of our policies and procedures and recommend improvements.
• Review and evaluate supply base and identify hidden risks or common issues.
Product Compliance
• Ensure compliance manuals are up to date with all standards applicable to the markets in which company trades or intends to trade across all product categories
• Working with the quality team based in Qingdao review suppliers’ performance regularly to ensure standards are maintained and adhered to
• Ensure all testing is completed to company standards, and is submitted on time and filing maintained
• Assess suppliers based on quality performance & make recommendations to the business to minimise risk
• Reduce testing costs by 5% each financial year by coming up with cost efficiencies
Ethical Compliance
• Ensure all suppliers have yearly SMETA reports submitted – all pass or corrective action is taken with non-compliant suppliers
• Ensure all suppliers adhere to the company code of conduct in line with SMETA guidelines
• Advise all recycling and waste management reporting guidelines by country & submit appropriate documentation/ reporting in a timely manner
• Highlight any non-compliant suppliers in a timely manner with which the business can take corrective action
• Ensure all required annual reporting is submitted in a timely manner – Modern Slavery Report, Packaging Covenant reporting
PRIVATE AND CONFIDENTIAL
Customs Product Compliance
• Research and advise all product, labelling and importation requirements for all countries in which company trades or intends to trade.
• Communicate clear guidelines on the requirements for each country
• Ensure all registrations are up to date by country and store in relation to Precious Metals or any other product category which has specific requirements with a country in which company trades or intends to trade.
• Recommend all corrective actions to ensure a smooth importation process for all product ranges company manufactures, into each country in which we trade or intend to trade.
TEAM MANAGEMENT
• Weekly one on one meetings with your team
• Motivating, leading, training and developing your team with a hands-on approach
SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIPS
• Respond to supplier correspondence within 24 hours
ADMINISTRATION:
• Ensure punctuality and accuracy of all paperwork
• To ensure reports are submitted in a timely manner to meet required deadlines
• Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures at all times and continually keep abreast of changes to these as they occur
• To ensure holiday requirements do not impact on company needs and adhere to company policy
