Job Purpose:
The Quality Director leads the plant’s quality organization to meet customer expectations, regulatory standards, and company objectives. This position is responsible for managing quality systems (ISO 9001/14001, IATF 16949), overseeing daily operations, and driving continuous improvement initiatives through Lean Six Sigma methodologies. A strong technical foundation, leadership skills, and collaborative mindset are essential to champion ZAMA's quality mission and foster a Zero Defect Quality culture.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead Quality Functions: Oversee all facets of plant quality operations including Customer, Supplier, and Manufacturing Quality, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.

Drive Zero Defect Culture: Translate corporate strategies into actionable plans to support ZAMA’s journey toward Zero Defect Quality.

Quality System Compliance: Ensure compliance with ISO 9001/14001 and IATF 16949 standards; manage audits and system certifications.

New Product Introduction (NPI): Collaborate with Product Development and Operations teams to ensure successful launches that meet quality targets.

Cross-functional Collaboration: Foster strong partnerships across ZAMA China to ensure customer satisfaction and minimize quality escalations.

Budget Management: Manage regional quality budgets, ensuring cost-effective quality support aligned with annual plans.

Continuous Improvement: Champion Lean Six Sigma and other quality improvement initiatives across high-volume and low-volume production environments.

Specification & Testing Oversight: Guarantee that manufacturing specifications and testing procedures are in place prior to vendor or subcontractor engagements.

Regulatory & Compliance Assurance: Ensure full compliance with relevant quality management systems, regulatory standards, and product requirements.

Team Development: Mentor and lead engineers (manufacturing and project) to ensure cohesive, high-performing quality operations.
Key Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related technical field

Proven leadership experience in manufacturing quality management

In-depth knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, IATF 16949 standards

Certified Lean Six Sigma (Black Belt preferred)

Experience in both high volume and high mix/low volume environments

Strong analytical, communication, and team-building skills

Experience with regulatory compliance and audit processes
