Job Title: OE Technical Expert
Location: Shanghai
Job Summary:
The OE Technical Expert will serve as the primary technical interface between the company and major Chinese OEMs, driving technical collaborations to accelerate Passenger Car Motor Oil (PCMO) product adoption and co-development initiatives. This role is pivotal in executing the company's strategic OEM breakthrough objectives, leveraging deep technical expertise, regulatory insight, and OEM-specific knowledge to secure long-term partnerships and product approvals.
Key Responsibilities:

Act as the main technical service point of contact for designated local OEMs.

Present lubricant technology proposals, test data, and performance claims effectively.

Support OEM certification processes, including factory audits, field trials, and technical documentation.

Translate complex technical performance details into clear customer benefits.

Translate OEM technical requirements into internal product development briefs.

Collaborate with the Regional R&D center to ensure PCMO products meet or exceed OEM-specific performance standards (e.g., GB standards, ACEA, API, ILSAC).

Interpret evolving OEM technical roadmaps related to engine technology, hybridization, and after-market needs, providing strategic feedback to R&D.

Monitor and analyze regulatory trends (e.g., China VI emissions, carbon neutrality) and advise on their implications for lubricant development.

Support the development of sustainability narratives for products, including bio-based and fuel-efficient technologies.

Benchmark competitor products regarding technical positioning, OEM approvals, and value propositions.

Collaborate with the sales team to gather customer demand and provide feedback to the development center.
Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or a related field.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in lubricant formulation, engine testing, or OEM technical liaison roles.

Direct experience with OEM bench/road testing and product certification processes is required.

Deep understanding of PCMO technologies, additive chemistry, and engine hardware trends. Experience with hybrid and electric vehicle fluid requirements is a plus.

Familiarity with Chinese OEM internal testing protocols and approval workflows. Existing connections with OEM product development stakeholders are advantageous.

Proven ability to translate complex technical data into compelling value propositions for both technical and commercial audiences.

Fluency in Mandarin and English is essential.
