Key Responsibilities
- Hold full Profit & Loss (P&L) responsibility for the compounds business in China and act as the Legal Representative of the local entity, ensuring all statutory and corporate compliance requirements are met.
- Develop and execute short- and long-term commercial strategies to drive aggressive sales growth, market share expansion, and market penetration for the compound product portfolio across China.
- Build, lead, and develop a high-performing, cross-functional management team. Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, talent development, and succession planning.
- Champion a strong Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) culture. Ensure full compliance with all Chinese environmental, safety, labor, and chemical manufacturing regulations, as well as global corporate standards.
- Drive a customer-centric culture by strengthening key account relationships, ensuring superior service and quality delivery, and leading major customer engagements, audits, and technical discussions.
- Collaborate effectively with regional and global teams across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, R&D, Quality, Finance, and HR to ensure strategic alignment, smooth operations, and successful execution of business initiatives.
- Lead the annual budgeting, quarterly forecasting, and monthly financial review processes. Approve capital expenditures (CAPEX) and lead business case development for new investments, capacity expansion, and product innovation.
- Continuously identify and evaluate new market opportunities, customer segments, and competitive dynamics. Lead the development of data-driven business cases for strategic growth initiatives.
- Partner with operations leaders to ensure manufacturing excellence, supply chain reliability, and adherence to quality systems. Support new product introductions and technology transfers into the local facility.
- Lead mergers and acquisitions (M&A) activities within China, including target screening, due diligence, negotiation support, and post-merger integration planning as required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Polymer, or Mechanical), Chemistry, Materials Science, or Business Management. A Master’s degree (MBA or MS in Engineering) is strongly preferred.
- Minimum 20 years of progressive experience in the chemical, plastics, polymer compounds, or related manufacturing industries. At least 10 years of senior leadership experience managing large, multi-functional teams and complex operations.
- Proven track record in senior sales and marketing leadership with direct P&L responsibility. Demonstrated ability to drive profitable revenue growth, manage budgets, and make data-driven investment decisions.
- Deep understanding of Chinese industrial regulatory requirements, including environmental, safety, and chemical manufacturing laws. Strong familiarity with the local competitive landscape and customer dynamics.
- Exceptional strategic leadership, decision-making, and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work effectively across cultures and functions, driving change and continuous improvement while maintaining a safety-first and customer-focused mindset.
