Job Title: Project Director-Complex Green-field Project
Location: Changzhou
Your Role:
  1. Responsible for the delivery of the whole project, from the commencement of the construction till the manufacturing of the first coil, which includes construction of the plant, equipment erection and installation, and the commissioning of the plant, etc.
  2. Managing the teams, subcontractors and third parties to ensure the delivery of the works to meet the schedule and handover to the successor activities to meet the overall program objectives.
  3. Setting up the project strategy for the procurement and subcontracts pertaining to the construction.
  4. Manage all aspects of the project scope from design constructability, design interfaces and execution of the works.
  5. Ensure that the plans and procedures are in place for all engineering, procurement, construction activities and ensures their compliance including strict adherence to local and national regulatory codes, ES&H and quality requirements.
  6. Arrange for the overall execution of works, meeting compliance requirements, contractual and senior management team requirements.
  7. Leads and arrange input to ensures continuous work fronts availability to the successor activities through review of look ahead schedules, commodity charts, engineering deliverables, material delivery schedules and any other service requirements.
  8. Negotiate contracts, with the vendors, other professionals, and renegotiating contracts with contractors and subcontractors when changes occur.
  9. Support development of project automation plan by providing project specific automation requirements.
  10. Lead and coordinate with contractors, engineers, and other stakeholders involved in process.
  11. Champion the creation of a project work environment, assist by leadership on the project, which fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.
  12. Mentor, motivate, manage, and act as a role-model for the team and contractors in terms of behaviors and values and monitor their performance.
  13. Communicate with staff, supervisors, and other parties involved in the project to discuss plans, goals and how to achieve them.
  14. Define the training requirements of the staff and manage the roll out of training, track and run the programs.
  15. Ensure the closure of project is systematic and complete in all respects.
Skills and Qualifications:
  1. A recognized bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil /Structural or any discipline in Engineering (or international equivalent)·        
  2. Minimum 20 years of professional experience, or 25 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree
  3. Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in large industrial / infrastructure projects with supervisory / managerial experience in leadership roles like Project Field Engineer, Project Superintendent, Construction Manager or Site Manager
  4. Has experience in projects with significant scope in a similar role.
  5. Has demonstrated knowledge of construction, engineering and procurement, and other project related activities, including their interfaces and interdependencies.
  6. Thorough knowledge of international/China standards and specification and codes as applicable, and practices associated with the works
  7. High degree of communication and interpersonal skills to maintain a positive work environment between all parties including contractors, and other stakeholders throughout the project life cycle
  8. Self-motivated individual with ability to work independently and exercise professional judgment, with a passion to take ownership of projects and provide sound technical leadership to team
