Next-Generation Material Development
- Lead R&D efforts in next-generation anode material technologies, with a primary focus on the large-scale application of fast-charging and long-cycle-life anode materials.
- Drive the development and optimization of hard carbon and soft carbon materials for advanced battery systems.
- Explore novel material systems and modification strategies to enhance energy density, rate capability, and cycling stability.
- Employ advanced analytical techniques to evaluate material properties, including but not limited to SEM, XRD, BET, particle size analysis, and electrochemical testing.
- Interpret characterization data to establish structure–property–performance relationships and guide material design iterations.
- Collaborate with cell engineering teams to fabricate electrodes and conduct coin-cell/pouch-cell testing for performance validation.
- Design and optimize laboratory-scale synthesis routes (e.g., coating, doping, carbonization, graphitization) with a view toward industrial scalability.
- Work closely with process engineering teams to support the transition of promising R&D formulations from lab to pilot and mass production.
- Troubleshoot material-related issues encountered during scale-up and provide data-backed recommendations for process adjustments.
- Investigate root causes of material-level failures, such as capacity fading, lithium plating, and gas evolution, using systematic analytical approaches.
- Propose and validate improvement strategies based on failure analysis outcomes.
- Document all experimental plans, procedures, results, and technical conclusions in a clear and organized manner.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations for internal stakeholders, including cross-functional teams and senior management.
- Contribute to patent applications and scientific publications as applicable.
- Stay abreast of the latest academic and industrial advancements in anode materials and battery technologies.
- Proactively propose innovative research directions and improvement measures to strengthen the company's technological competitiveness.
Requirements
Education
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in Materials Science, Electrochemistry, Physical Chemistry, Inorganic Non-metallic Materials, Applied Chemistry, or a closely related field.
- Master's or Doctoral degree is strongly preferred.
- At least 3 years of hands-on R&D experience in top-tier Anode Active Material (AAM) companies or other organizations involved in anode material manufacturing.
- Preference will be given to candidates familiar with leading battery material companies.
- Generally, a total of 5 years or more of experience in lithium battery anode material R&D, process development, or mass production implementation is expected.
- Demonstrated experience in developing fast-charging, long-cycle, or hard carbon/soft carbon anode materials is a significant advantage.
- Deep understanding of the microstructure and preparation principles of anode materials, including graphite and hard carbon.
- Familiarity with powder engineering, heat treatment processes (carbonization, graphitization), and mainstream production equipment used in anode manufacturing.
- Proficiency in material characterization techniques, including SEM, XRD, BET, and electrochemical analysis methods.
- Solid knowledge of battery electrode fabrication (coating, calendering, etc.) and cell testing protocols.
- Strong experimental design skills with a data-driven and systematic approach to problem solving.
- Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, bridging R&D, process engineering, and production.
- Self-motivated, with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (equivalent to CET-6 or above), with the ability to clearly present complex technical findings to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated initiative and the capability to mentor junior researchers and lead sub-projects, with the potential to grow into an R&D Leader role within one year.
