Responsibilities
Process Optimization & Production Support
- Lead the optimization and continuous improvement of production line processes, including real-time monitoring and adjustment of critical parameters (e.g., temperature profiles, airflow rates).
- Develop, standardize, and maintain comprehensive Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to enhance product yield, production efficiency, and operational consistency.
- Provide on-site technical support, track production schedules, and directly guide QA teams to ensure adherence to quality standards.
- Proactively identify and resolve technical challenges arising during manufacturing to minimize downtime and defects.
- Drive the process design for anode materials, including surface modification strategies (e.g., coating, doping) and microstructure control to achieve target electrochemical performance.
- Lead key process steps in the anode value chain: raw material selection and pretreatment, granulation, coating, graphitization, carbonization, and finished product processing.
- Oversee the technology transfer from laboratory-scale formulations to pilot-scale and ultimately full-scale mass production.
- Optimize critical manufacturing processes (granulation, coating, carbonization) to ensure batch-to-batch stability and reproducibility.
- Troubleshoot and resolve scale-up challenges, ensuring seamless integration of new processes into existing production lines.
- Conduct in-depth root-cause analysis at the material level for battery performance issues, including lithium plating, gas swelling, and cycle degradation.
- Translate failure analysis findings into actionable process or formulation improvements.
- Prepare, revise, and maintain all technical documents related to product specifications, process parameters, and control plans.
- Lead or contribute to technical research and improvement initiatives, proposing innovative solutions to elevate the company’s overall process technology capability.
Requirements
Education
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrochemistry, or a closely related field. Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) is preferred.
- At least 3 years of hands-on experience in a top-tier Anode Active Material (AAM) company or other organizations specializing in anode material manufacturing.
- Demonstrated track record in process engineering, scale-up, and production support within the lithium-ion battery materials industry.
- Deep understanding of anode material synthesis, surface modification techniques, and microstructure-property-performance relationships.
- Practical experience with key manufacturing processes such as granulation, coating, carbonization, and graphitization.
- Proficient in process parameter optimization (temperature, pressure, flow, etc.) and statistical process control.
- Strong knowledge of failure analysis methodologies related to battery cell performance (e.g., lithium plating, gas evolution, capacity fade).
- Proven ability to transition formulations from R&D to pilot and mass production, with a focus on scalability and consistency.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a data-driven and systematic approach.
- Ability to work effectively on the production floor, collaborating with operations, quality, and maintenance teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (equivalent to CET-6 or above), with the ability to clearly document technical processes and present findings to cross-functional teams.
