Responsibilities:
Qualifications:
- Maintain a view of current and future markets for specialty coke and the markets of end users. Actively engage with industry bodies and publishers of industry news to maintain up-to-date market knowledge and insight
- Identify new opportunities, enhance competitiveness and ensure optimum placement of the products in China and the Far East region
- Ensure that the marketing activities in China and the Far East region are co-ordinated and optimised within the constraints of long-term marketing strategies.
- Assist GM China in pricing to maximize value including setting and achieving targets for sales.
- Coordinate with the customers and technical team to provide necessary technical support, keep technical team aware of updated market demand in quality.
- Work with Global Specialties groups in Houston and London to facilitate in-time shipments to China to meet sales plans
- Manage the Company’s exposure to customer credit risk including putting in place necessary security controls to mitigate risks.
- Ensure timely payments of invoices and resolve any late payment issues promptly
- Produce management reports as required
Qualifications:
- Engineering or business degree
- Minimum of 5 years’ marketing experience in industrial specialty products including direct contact with industrial customers
- Strong working knowledge of end user markets
- Highly proficient in Chinese and English (written and spoken)
- Strong market analytical skills with the ability to obtain key information in the steel, aluminum, graphite electrode, battery anode and refining industries
- Ability to grasp fundamentals of petroleum coke production process and end use applications
- Customer-focused and results-oriented with excellent planning, strategic thinking and business skills
- Encourages teamwork within and across organizational boundaries
- Willingness to travel extensively within China with some travel overseas
