Overall scope & Purpose:
RD platform leader and will be involved in leading core platform or new platform growth including strategic projects (innovation, renovations) to be landed globally.
• Part of the R&D team that focus on complex or future fit projects. As a senior management, the incumbent can potentially be assigned as a RD lead for a new key platform for company globally
• Assigned to strategic projects of Global Scope (80%) and Zone Scope (20%) base on skill and flexibility need -as we practice some agility on resourcing and expanding individual development.
• Assigned to lead or be part of a project team member and will be involved in all holistic R&D elements (i.e. product, packaging, ingredients, technical knowledge).
• Desired to have a good overview / experience of the full cycle of development E2E. The global projects will be agreed and assigned on Global level.
• Be R&D key member of a cross functional team involved early in exploratory or scoping of newer platforms, improvement area.
• Lead to involvement in the full projects when decision to move forward if the person is a right fit for the next phase. Or the project can end at this stage.
• Lead in and build capability on consumer insight and translating to technical insight for sharper product design, Claims and future direction
• Deliverables to the brief of the projects will be the key assessment/evaluation of the incumbent.
• Keep abreast with technology, the external trends, capability and internal technology and knowing how to utilize them effectively in upgrade or new innovation.
• Interpersonal skills and leading indirect teams will be key as the individual work in collaboration with others to implement ideas to life.
Education & Experience:
• University degree in food science or related disciplines
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in international food industry
• Familiar with Chinese, Asian cuisine and culinary tradition. Passion for Foods.
• Project Management skills and potential.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Requirements & Skills:
Solid/rounded R&D capabilities in food design, production and processing
• Excellent interpersonal skills and leading indirect teams’ skills
• Good command in English & Mandarin
• Good MKT/business sense and insight on innovations
• Nimble learning and flexibility
